Series Overview

CLIMACS Monitoring and Control Platform

Rug-Rel has developed a multipurpose monitoring and control system platform (CLIMACS®) that can be used in advanced and complex electronic rack systems for continuous monitoring of multiple power inputs, logical control inputs and health of the fans, blowers, heaters and control the output logic, temperature, fan speed and indicators. CLIMACS® can communicate with the main user system via ethernet and UART to receive commands and communicate back the status of various parameters that it is monitoring.

Digital Airflow Sensor (DAFS)

A CLIMACS airflow sensing product built for chassis, chambers, pipes, ducts, and fan tray environments where stable digital airflow monitoring is required.

Key Features

Digital Airflow Sensor (DAFS)

Measures airflow from 0 m/s to 100 m/s with 0.01 m/s response sensitivity.
Delivers < 3% accuracy with a typical t63 response time of about 200 ms.
Uses an industry-standard digital 2-wire interface with support for up to 4 addressed sensors on one interface.
Built around stable platinum technology with a symmetrical heater design and a 12 V input.

CLIMACS digital airflow and temperature sensor

Digital Airflow & Temperature Sensor (DAFS)

A CLIMACS sensing module for applications that need both airflow and temperature visibility within cabinets, fan trays, pipes, and enclosed equipment spaces.

Combines airflow and temperature sensing in one module for chassis, chambers, pipes, and fan trays.
Measures airflow from 0 m/s to 100 m/s with 0.01 m/s sensitivity and < 3% accuracy.
Provides about 200 ms t63 response time with temperature sensitivity below 0.1% per K.
Uses a digital 2-wire interface and supports up to 4 addressed sensors on one interface.

CMCDL Module

A cabinet monitor control and data logging module in the CLIMACS family for remote supervision, power control, fan management, and system-level monitoring.

Key Features

CMCDL Module

Supports remote cabinet shutdown and restart with programmable supervision thresholds for voltage, current, power, and temperature.
Handles 1-wire temperature measurement for up to 6 digital temperature sensors.
Monitors and controls up to 5 fans and provides 8 TTL digital inputs plus 8 TTL digital outputs.
Includes 1000BASE-T Ethernet, SNMP-based control, and support for 85-285 VAC or 12 VDC input.

Open VPX CMCDL

An Open VPX CLIMACS monitoring and control module intended for chassis-level supervision, cooling management, and VITA-aligned system monitoring.

Open VPX CMCDL

Designed for OpenVPX systems and aligned to the SOSA Technical Standard Tier 3+ profile.
Supports up to 6 digital temperature sensors and up to 10 fans using VITA 46.11 cooling-management messages.
Provides redundant bussed System IPMB, 1000BASE-T Ethernet, and 12 LVTTL digital inputs plus outputs.
Adds optional vibration sensor interfacing in a 3U module intended for -40 C to +85 C operation.

Uses a quad-core Cortex-A72 64-bit SoC running at 1.5 GHz for OpenVPX chassis monitoring and control.
Supports up to 6 digital temperature sensors and up to 10 fans with VITA 46.11 cooling-management support.
Provides 12 LVTTL digital inputs and outputs, redundant system IPMB, 1000BASE-T Ethernet, and a web-based monitoring GUI.
Configured as a 3U VPX CMCDL V2 module with 5 VDC input and -20 C to +85 C operating support.
